FG approves airstrip for Oyedepo’s Winners Chapel

By Ologeh Joseph Chibu

The Federal Government has approved Airstrip for Bishop David Oyedepo’s Living Faith Church Worldwide (also known as Winners Chapel).

Oyedepo made the announcement on Monday. He said the Federal Government approved the construction of an airstrip for Faith Tabernacle at Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State.

The Church is one of the largest in the world.

Oyedepo shared the news during the Tehillah Night Special Edition at Covenant University Chapel on Sunday.

The airstrip will allow him and Church members to travel directly from the church premises, eliminating the need to first travel to a nearby airport.

“I’m sure you’ll be glad to know that the Federal Government has approved an airstrip for Canaanland,” Oyedepo to an enthusiastic crowd.

He said. “I won’t need to fly a helicopter to the airport anymore. I can leave directly from here. Even members with their own planes will have a place to land and park.”

The new airstrip is expected to enhance transportation for worshippers and visitors, especially during large-scale church events that attract thousands from across the globe.

In his address, Oyedepo also encouraged the congregation to discover their purpose in God’s plan. He highlighted the success of Covenant University graduates who have gone on to become pilots, some of whom now fly him on his journeys.

“Won’t you be glad to know that there are some captains that fly me who are graduates of Covenant University?” he said. “We don’t have an aviation department here, but they found their place in God and went after it. That’s what this university is all about; it’s not about boxing you up. It’s about allowing you to locate God’s plan and pursue it accordingly. Young people, don’t play away your life, you don’t have a spare.”

The Tehillah Night special edition was part of a series of thanksgiving programs held in honor of Oyedepo, who recently celebrated his 70th birthday.
