Fayemi approves 26m as bursary for 2,646 Ekiti students

The sum of N26m has been approved as bursary for Ekiti State students

The State Governor of Dr Kayode Fayemi approved the disbursement of the sum of Twenty Six Million, Four Hundred and Sixty-Thousand Naira (#26,460,000) to Ekiti indigenes in tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

The Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Mr Foluso Daramola, who made this known in a press statement on Saturday.

He said the government had made electronic payments to the bank accounts of a total of two thousand, six hundred and forty six (2,646) students in tertiary institutions in Nigeria, who were beneficiaries of the bursary awards.

The Commissioner also disclosed that the government would soon disburse funds for the State scholarship scheme, for deserving undergraduates and post-graduate students of the State, studying in Nigeria.

Daramola advised students who might have complaints with regards to the bursary payment, to visit Ekiti State Scholarship Board, State Secretariat, Ado-Ekiti, after the lockdown occasioned by the global COVID-19 pandemic.

He called on the students to shun social vices that could negatively affect their future. In addition, he advised students in the State to be advocates in the war against COVID-19 pandemic, by taking proper precautionary steps and abiding by government’s directives of washing their hands constantly, as well as maintaining social distancing.
