The family of radical lawyer, Mr Femi Falana, (SAN) has received death threats for his plans to go to court over audio released on-line by Mr Martins Otse.
On Monday, Falana said one of his daughters has received death threats from unknown persons.
Otse aired the yet to be verified video in which Mr Idris Okunneye, alias Bobrisky claimed he was to pay N10m to a lawyer to secure Presidential pardon.
In the audio, Otse (mis)interpreted the alleged encounter to mean that Mr Falana had an encounter with Okunneye and that he wanted N10m to secure Presidential pardon for Bobrisky.
Falana has already denied the false claims. Bobrisky also denied he ever spoke with Falana.
The video has raised dusts with many challenging its veracity in the age of Artificial Intelligence, (AI).
Speaking with Sahara Reporters on Monday Falana said his daughter was threatened with death by some people who warn that the lawyer should not procees to court.
Falana said “The only disturbing area in this scenario is the threat to me and one of my two daughters,” he said.
He spoke further “Some of these guys, who I believe are mentally deranged, had dared me saying, ‘If you go to court, we shall burn your office’.
He said they also sent a threat letter to his daughter.
They have also sent messages to one of my daughters that ‘If your father goes to court, we shall kill you.’
“I beg your pardon, in this country? I just laughed, and I asked my girl not to worry; I will take it up. I have already taken it up. We must also let these guys know where we are coming from.”
