Indian is suspected 4th case of Coronavirus in Lagos

The fourth case of Coronavirus infection may have been recorded in Nigeria today, following the third case that was hinted by the Lagos State Ministry of Health this morning. The Lagos State authorities had said that a female who came in from the United Kingdom to Nigeria last week Friday had tested positive to COVID-19.
Irohinoodua was informed that the suspected forth case involves a patient who came into Nigeria from India through Mumbai. The middle-aged person was said to have presented at a Clinic today in Lagos where he was examined by medical experts.
Sources said he had high temperature, 38.5c with dry cough and sour throat. He was said to have had difficulty in breathing.
Irohinoodua was informed by competent sources that he is of Indian nationality (names withheld) and was coming to Nigeria after weeks of holiday in his home country. He arrived in Nigeria on March 12, after boarding from Mumbai in India via Cairo. ‘Symptoms shows he is having severe dry cough with high temperature and breathing difficulties. High probability is that he has Coronavirus”, the expert hinted our correspondent.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian High Commission in London may have suspended the processing of passports until further notice except for emergency travels. A statement signed by Counsellor and Head of Chancery for the High Commissioner, Rose Yakowa Okoh said the measure was to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
One Professor Akin Abayomi has urged travellers on British Airways Flight BA 75 that arrived Lagos on 13th March to stay at home and isolate themselves for 14 days.
