Election Tribunal: Labour Party faction seeks withdrawal of Obi’s suit against Tinubu.

A faction of the Labour Party, LP is planning to withdraw the suit challenging President Elect Ahmed Bola Tinubu-s victory.

The latest development is a fallout of the crisis that has rocked the opposition party led by Mr Peter Obi who came third in the February 25 Presidential election

In a statement, The Labour Party has raised the alarm over an alleged withdrawal of the petition of the presidential candidate of the party, Mr. Peter Obi, against the election of President-Elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

A statement made available to Irohinoodua Acting National Publicity Secretary Obiorah Ifoh said Tuesday claimed that the suspended National Chairman, Lamidi Apapais working had to ensure the withdrawal of the suit and scuttle Labour Party fortunes at the Tribunal.

He said the factional leader has embarked on a mission to create problems for the party’s petition t Labour Party’s legal disputation so as to work against Labour Party victory

He said “Approaching the tribunals to withdraw all the cases lodged by Labour Party candidates across board is the height of subterfuge and treachery, and Nigerians will resist this ploy to plunge the nation into unnecessary turmoil.

The Labour Party has been embroiled in internal dispute that affects the party’s chances of fighting as a collective whole.

He said further “Their actions show that they are working against the party and that they are working to destroy the party. If they claim that they have problem with the national leadership of the party, will they also claim that they have problem with the candidates of the party. What offence has the candidates of the party committed that they are now moving around to withdraw their matters from the tribunal,” the party stated
