Aisha Abass

The Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Funminiyi Afuye, has greeted Muslims across the State on this year’s Eid-l- Kabir festival.

The Speaker in a statement by his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Mrs. Kemisola Afolayan, made available to Irohinoodua appreciated the Almighty Allah for allowing our Muslim community to witness this year’s festival in peace and sound health.

He noted that “Ekiti State is relatively peaceful because of the mutual cooperation coexisting between the Muslims and Christians in the State.” Describing Ekiti as an homogeneous State, Afuye said “we are known for our Omoluabi ethos which symbolizes good character, hard work and integrity”

As this year’s festival is being observed the Speaker reminded worshippers not forget that the corona virus pandemic is not yet totally eradicated. He therefore advised them to obey all the rules of COVID-19 and refrain from gathering in one place of worship for the annual eid service without observing the protocols.
