Ekiti LCDA Chairman, Ogungbemi, Nominated for Heroes award in UK

A United Kingdom based group has nominated the Chairman, Ajoni Local Council Development Area of Ekiti State, Amb. Prince Michael Ogungbemi for the prestigious African Community Heroes’ Award.
Ogungbemi has consistently impressed local and international communities in the realm of health care, education, infrastructure and overall community development.
A statement from the council authority said the award was in recognition of his outstanding work in grassroots development.
The Global Skills Hub, UK, which organises the award is based in the United Kingdom
The group said it aims to celebrate exceptional African leaders who have demonstrated integrity, professional excellence, community development, and national transformation. A virtual leadership training was held on April 26, 2025, for all award recipients across Africa.
In a letter dated March 16, 2025, the Country Director of the organization, Dr. Honey Olawale, notified Ogungbemi of his nomination, citing his integrity in public service, professional impact in local governance, community involvement, and contributions to sustainable development.
Prince Ogungbemi expressed gratitude for the recognition, dedicating it to the good people of Ajoni LCDA.
He thanked Governor Biodun Oyebanji and his predecessor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, for the opportunity to serve and prove his leadership abilities.
