The Ekiti State Government (EKSG) has approved a sum of N4.6 billion for the rehabilitation of the Oke Ayedun-Ipao-Oke Ako-Irele Road, a critical infrastructure project expected to be completed within 18 months.
This road serves as a vital connection between multiple communities in the state but has deteriorated significantly, posing risks to safety and security while hindering economic activities. The rehabilitation is aimed at restoring the road’s functionality, easing the hardship faced by residents, and improving economic growth, safety, and security along the corridor.
Contract Details
The contract has been awarded to Messrs. Dromo Nigeria Limited, with provisions for a 60% mobilization payment to be made upon the submission of an Advance Payment Guarantee (APG) or an Insurance Bond. This arrangement ensures the contractor’s commitment to timely and quality execution of the project.
Government Commitment
The Ekiti State Government emphasized the importance of the project, stating that it aligns with its broader goal of improving infrastructure to enhance the quality of life for residents and stimulate economic development.
Once completed, the rehabilitation of the Oke Ayedun-Ipao-Oke Ako-Irele Road will significantly reduce travel time, improve access to essential services, and foster economic integration across the affected communities.
