By Ologeh Joseph Chibu

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has ordered the arrest of two officers involved in the manhandling of a female staff member at the Regional Hotel in Ojo, Lagos.

This development was made known to Irohinodua on Thursday, by the Head of Media and Publicity of EFCC, Dele Oyewale in a signed statement released on the EFCC official X handle.

The incident, captured in a viral video that emerged on Thursday, shows officers of the EFCC assaulting the hotel staff during an early morning sting operation. Although the operation resulted in the apprehension of a significant number of suspects, who are currently being profiled, the method and manner of approach by the operatives was vulgar, insulting and barbaric.

In response to the incident, Mr. Olukoyede has called for a thorough investigation into the actions of the officers during the operation. He has promised that any officer found guilty of misconduct will face appropriate disciplinary action.

Mr. Olukoyede reassured the public that the EFCC remains committed to conducting its duties with professionalism and strict adherence to the rule of law.
