By Kayode Alao

The Defence Intelligence Agency, (DIA) has declared wanted former Deputy Director, Intelligence Administration, Navy Commodore (rtd) Kunle Olawunmi over a range of indicting interviews he granted Channels TV on the State of security in Nigeria

Olawunmi in the interview conducted mid this week made scarthing criticisms of the regime of President Mohammadu Buhari who he indicted of complicity in the spate of insecurity and killings across Nigeria.

Sources told Irohinoodua that Olawunmi has been summoned to appear in Abuja with his international passport. There is a strong suspicion that he may be arrested.

“The Defence Intelligence after reviewing his case has summoned him to appear in Abuja. He has been asked to come and substantiate his claims. He made very strong criticisms of the government. He indicted top government officials which he did not name. He has a case to answer” a reliable source told Irohinoodua.

The source said the interview was reviewed by a committee set up by the DIA in Abuja and after extensive overview, his encounter on Channels TV was categorised as “threat to peace.”

It is uncertain if Olawunmi who is a Professor and University lecturer has answered the call.

Olawunmi in the interview gave graphic details of how sponsors of Boko Haram and terrorism hibernate in the current government.

He said sponsors of terrorism are occupying important positions in the government of President Buhari.

Olawunmi said he personally interrogated many of those working close to President Buhari and discovered they were hardline Ismalic fundamentalist.

A source in the government said Olawunmi was declared wanted for “many unsubstantiated claims he made.”
