Oyebanji flags off promotion exercise of public servants in Ekiti

Ekiti state Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the 2022/23 arrears promotion of eligible and qualified public servants in the state.

The exercise is aimed to motivate the workers to deliver optimally as part of his cardinal Governance agenda.

The Governor has said the exercise should begin immediately without any further delay.

Chief Samuel Alaba Abejide, The Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) Chairman, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, LGSC, Mrs Titilayo Toba-Ojo, described the Governor’s approval of the exercise as “Unprecedented” in the annals of the state.

She said the promotion in the past has always been dawdle which lowers worker’s motivation.

According to the Chairman, the Governor deserves commendation for fulfilling his electioneering promises to the public servants through adequate motivation by offsetting the salary arrears owed workers since 2018, prompt payment of salaries and allowances, gradual payment of leave allowances, release of housing and vehicle loans, and regular payment of pensions and gratuities benefits.

Chief Abejide also used the opportunity to motivate Ekiti state workers to be more diligent, dedicated and committed to their duties to ensure the success of the 6-Point Agenda of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji by embracing honest and hard work.

Speaking on behalf’s of the workers, the LGCS branch Chairman of NULGE, Comrade Olanrewaju Falade, who uses the opportunity to thank Governor Oyenbanji for his enormous effort promised to support and give absolute loyalty to the staff and his administration.

The advancement, conversion and absorption of officers into the unified local government service follow immediately as part of the general promotion exercise to cater for the welfare needs of workers to improve performance output in the service.
