Chinese company seek FG approval to invest in CNG

A Chinese energy firm, Wen Advisor on Tuesday met with the Federal Government, (FG) on plans to stage the largest investment in Compressed Natural Gas, (CNG).
The initiative is expected to boost President Bola Tinubu’s energy transition project.
The Managing Director of the energy company, Haikuo Weng, was received by the Permanent Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Nicholas Ella in Abuja on Tuesday.
The Chinese firm pledged to introduce CNG buses with competitive prices that would make the country achieve its clean energy transportation system.
Ella told the delegates that Nigeria offered huge business potential for investments in CNG-powered vehicles.
He said the investment would help boost the use of cleaner energy for environmental sustainability
A statement issued by his Personal Assistant, John Ameh, on Wednesday recalled that Ella explained that the President’s policy on gas infrastructure development tallied with global best practices in the use of cleaner energy for environmental sustainability.
The Director, Upstream Department in the Ministry, Mr Kamoru Busari was quoted in a statement that he expressed the Federal Government’s readiness to provide an enabling environment for investment to thrive in the country.
