By Samuel Ogunsona
A two-storey secondary school building on Friday has collapsed in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
Many students were feared dead and others trapped.
The incidents occurred during the school hour when many of the students trapped in the building were busy writing their examination, locals told Irohinoodua.
The accident took place at Saints Academy in Busa Buji, Jos North.
Examinations were disrupted on Friday morning when the school’s two-story building caved in around 10:30am trapping teachers and scores of students.
As at press time that at least 12 students have been pulled out dead leaving many others injured.
Many of those who have been rushed to nearby hospitals were seriously in need of blood for their survival.
Emergency workers, supported by volunteers, security personnel, and members of the Red Cross, are using excavators to rescue pupils still trapped under the rubble signalling the crisis if leadership that has been the lot of local and central authorities in Africa’s biggest democracy.
The total number of casualties is yet to be confirmed as at Friday evening
