Breaking: US Congressman alleges USAID funds Boko Haram, ISIS, cites $697 million annual support

By Samuel Ogunsona

American Republican Congressman, Scott Perry, has made a startling claim that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is funding Boko Haram terrorists, allocating $697 million annually for their training camps.

Perry’s assertion raises questions about the intended use of USAID funds, particularly in regions like Nigeria, where Boko Haram has wreaked havoc.

Scott Perry said, “Your money, $697million annually USAID for ISIS, Boko Haram terrorists training camps, that’s what it funding.” He alleges.

“If you think that the program under operation in charge of women scholarships which receives $60million dollars annually or the young women lead who get about $5million annually is going to women, which by the way, if you read the inspector general report, it’s telling you that the Taliban doesn’t allow women to speak in public.

“if someone you’re believing that the American people are suppose to believe that this money is going for the betterment of women is Afghanistan, it is not. It’s for funding terrorism and it’s coming through USAID idea. It’s not just Afghanistan, Pakistan is right next door. USAID spent $840million in the last 20years of Pakistan educational related program, it includes $136million to build 120 schools with zero evidence.

“This evidence does not exists
“They are paying for terrorism” he mentioned

However, the Nigeria Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has also shed light on the group’s funding.

During an interview with Al Jazeera, Musa revealed that most surrendered Boko Haram insurgents had hard currencies on them, sparking concerns about the source of these funds.

Unfortunately, Nigeria lacks the jurisdiction to trace and track the origin of these funds.

Musa has also called on the United Nations to investigate Boko Haram’s and other terrorism groups funding and training, emphasizing the need for international cooperation to combat terrorism.

The CDS’s concerns highlight the complexity of Boko Haram’s funding networks and the need for a comprehensive approach to address this issue.

Congressman Perry’s allegations and General Musa’s revelations underscore the urgency of scrutinizing USAID’s funding allocation and ensuring that these resources are not inadvertently supporting terrorist organizations like Boko Haram.
