Breaking: Ondo APC gubernatorial primary Returning Officer murdered

The All Progressive Congress (APC), completed its gubernatorial primary last weekend.

Barely one week after, the returning officer, Mr Alaba Abey, in the primary election has been killed by unknown gunmen.

Irohinodua was informed the deceased who is the Returning Officer for Ward 10 in Supare Akoko, Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State was shot in his home.

The murdered returning officer was believed to be an ally of Governor Ayedatiwa who won the disputed primary.

But it is not certain if his death was in anyway connected with the just concluded APC primary.

His death was confirmed on Sunday by his younger brother, Samuel Abbey, who said the assassination occurred around 9pm on Saturday.

The Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organization Foot-Soldiers (LACO-SF), who heard about the attack on one of its prominent members has called on the police authorities to investigate the gruesome murder of its member.

LACO-SF also called on the police to protect every other members from the reoccurrence of such attack.
