VP Shettima, Obasanjo, Saraki among others present at inauguration

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the November election, Douye Diri, has been sworn-in for the second term as the governor of Bayelsa state.
The second term inauguration took place at the state capital, Yenagoa, on Wednesday.
The Bayelsa State gubernatorial election that elect Diri with 175,196 total votes against his All Progressive Congress (APC) rival, Timipre Sylva, with 110,108 took place on 11 November 2023.
Dignitaries present at the inauguration includes but not limited to former Nigeria Presidents, Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, former senate president, Bukola Saraki, Liberia vice president who represents the president of the country,Jeremiah Koung, former Bayelsa state governor, Henry Dickson, among many others.
The 64-year old Governor who has once served as a Senator representing Bayelsa central senatorial district in the 9th National Assembly assured the state of prosperity
While delivering his inaugural speech, Diri urge the people of Bayelsa to continue in love and harmony.
He assured to achieve a bigger mile stone in his second term.
