The President of the Ibadan College of Medicine Alumni Association in North America, Dr Abraham Ariyo Abraham Adeniran has promised that the year 2024 will ursher fresh milestones for Nigeria’s pioneer school of medicine.

He spoke in his new year message to members of the Alumni and people around the world connected to the ancient school over generations.

His statement was made available to Irohinoodua. He praised past donors to the school adding that their sacrifices continue to strengthen the capacity of the school to meet global standards.

He wrote: “Reflecting upon our remarkable journey in the past years fills me with immense pride and gratitude. Our fundraising efforts in 2023 were nothing short of amazing, building upon the foundation laid in 2022. In that pivotal year, we witnessed the generosity of Dr. Ozuah, whose one-million-dollar donation set the stage for our collective commitment to the betterment of our beloved alma mater.

And then, in 2023, the Danjuma family’s extraordinary contribution of $1.36 million marked another significant milestone in our mission. The unwavering support from each of you, from the small to the medium and the large donations, has propelled us forward. Your dedication to ICOMAA and commitment to the ideals that bind us together are commendable.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the ICOMAA-NA Executive Committee for their tireless efforts and the seamless collaboration with the Provost’s office. We navigated the past year’s challenges together, working harmoniously to ensure an excellent outcome. Your commitment to the cause has been a shining example of what we can achieve when we stand united.

As we turn the page to 2024, let us look forward to a year filled with even more remarkable achievements. Our ICOMAA-NA family is a beacon of strength, resilience, and collective impact. Please continue supporting our alma mater in whatever capacity you can. Whether through mentorship, time, or financial contributions, your involvement makes a meaningful difference.

Let us embrace the challenges and opportunities ahead with enthusiasm and determination. Together, we can make 2024 a year of even greater success, building upon the foundation we’ve laid in the past. Thank you all for your continued support, and here’s to a more robust and exciting year for the ICOMAA-NA family!
