
Armed men storm Ekiti, kill man, abduct wife, daughter

Armed men have again attacked Ekiti State. A man was killed in the latest attack, his wife and daughter were also kidnapped.
Irohinoodua was informed Otun Ekiti, headquarters of Moba Local Government that the victims came from Lagos attend a ceremony in Ekiti before their mate in unfortunate fate.
The attack took place on Friday evening on Ewu-Ayetoro-Ekiti road located in Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
It was in the same area that a traditional ruler Elewu of Ewu-Ekiti, Oba Adetutu Ajayi, in Ilejemeje Local Government Area of Ekiti State was shot by armed Fulani herdsmen earlier this year.
A member of Oodua Liberation Movement, (OLM) in Otun-Ekiti, Kunle Odesola said the attackers were Fulnai herdsmen.
“The pattern of attack is the same. They kidnap our people and take them into the forest. Most of the time they wns up in either the forests in Kogi or Ogun State” he said adding that the man killed on Friday and his family were visiting home for an event slated for this weekend.
He said the attackers are waging what he called ‘a persistent psychological war on the people” adding that most people have abandoned their farms because of the ceaseless attacks.
Multiple sources said the couple and their young daughter were in a Lexus 330 Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) with a Lagos number.
The Ekiti State police confirmed the incidence. The Police image maker, Sunday Abutu said three people were in the vehicle as at the time of the attack.
