Armed men kill Army General in Abuja

A General (rtd) was on Saturday killed by unknown armed men in Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital.

Brigadier General Uwem Udokwere was killed by armed gang on Saturday. The motive behind his killings remains unknown as at press time.

Family sources said he was shot several times by armed men that stormed his residence in Abuja on Saturday morning.

Brig-General Ndokwere was living in Lagos because he relocated to Abuja.

He was a member of Laughter Foundation Church. It was at the Laughter Foundation that he had his twins before he left Lagos for Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh said the police would fish out his killers.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, said the CP has demanded for thorough investigation to fish out the murderers

The police statement said “In response to the tragic and unprecedented attack at Sunshine homes estate by armed robbers, resulting in the untimely demise of one Brigadier General Uwem Harold Udokwere (rtd.) on June 22, 2024, at approximately 03:00 a.m, the Commissioner of Police, FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, psc, mni, has promptly ordered a thorough and discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding this regrettable event.
