Armed kidnappers kill Oba Adeusi in Ondo State

A prominent traditional ruler in Ondo State, Oba Adegoke Adeusi, the Olufon of Ifon has been killed. He was kidnapped but his abductors later killed him.
“He was killed by armed kidnappers who seized him on his way from Akure before he was later killed” a police source told Irohinoodua.
The Oba’s dominion is located in Ose Local Government Area Ondo State.
Close sources said he was kidnapped by suspected herdsmen who later shot him dead. The source the herdsmen have been harassing villagers in the area for long time and that they have had many silent victims who were either kidnapped and ransom secretly paid.
Irohinoodua was informed that the Oba was on his way from Akure after attending a meeting of traditional rulers in the capital city.
The kidnappers accosted him around Elegbeta area of Ondo state.
“They stopped his vehicle, removed his crown and sandwiched him at the back of his car. The kidnappers were armed with AK 47 rifles” family sources told Irohinoodua.
The source said ” They contacted the family for money. The family was working on raising the funds. But they killed him. The kidnappers used his phone to call some people but they didnt wait for the ransom to be paid” the source said
