Armed groups raid hospital, abduct babies in Kaduna

Armed men have stormed a health centre in the North Central State of Kaduna abducting scores of staff and patients including babies.
Irohinoodua correspondent in Kaduna was informed the gun men came in large numbers shooting to pave their entrance into the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Centre in Zaria, Kaduna State.
“They abducted babies, staff and workers. It was a gory scene” a local official who does not wish to be named told Irohinoodua
Sources said security operatives have been drafted to arrest the bandits.
“We got the report. We have sent intelligence officers who are working to fish out the criminals” a local police officer told our correspondent.
Sources said at least seven nurses, babies and other workers were abducted.
The Public Relations Officer of the Medical
and Health Union of the Center, Maryam Abdulrazaq confirmed that at least six people were abducted.
“So far, I have six names of the people abducted but I will try to
get the remaining four names by Monday God willing. The principal
Security guard on duty, two nurses Joy Yakubu and Odor and her baby,
Lab Technician Christiana, Kasim from Auditorium office were among
those kidnapped,” she told journalists who visited the hospital.
