Amotekun storm Ondo forest, rescues kidnapped wife of Akeredolu’s CoS

Special corps of Amotekun today stormed forests in Ondo State in search of kidnappers.
It paid off. Amotekun arrested the kidnappers of the Chief of Staff, (CoS) to the State Governor, Mrs Olugbenga Ale.
She was earlier kidnapped by suspected herdsmen around Owena area of Akure, the Ondo State capital on Thursday night.
“We acted on credible intelligence We were able to arrest the kidnappers. We also rescued the woman that was kidnapped since Thursday”, an official of Amotekun told Irohinoodua on Saturday.
The official said tens of Amotekun corps participated in the operation.
Mrs Ale was kidnapped fee hours after the killing of first class traditional ruler in the state,Oba Israel Adeusi who was shot dead by kidnappers.
The Amotekun official who does not wish to be named said the kidnappers ran a well organised rogue cell with extensive Network across the entire South West
“The arrested kidnappers have been taken to Akure. Preliminary investigations revealed that they have a network. They have a structure and they are doing this for financial gains. They are also well armed” said the source adding that the arrested kidnappers will be handed over to the police for prosecution.
On Friday, the State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu admitted that Ondo State was facing a serious crisis of insecurity promising to mobilise Amotekun to deal with the menace.
The Ondo State commandant of Amotekun Corps, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, confirmed the rescue of Mrs Ale and the arrest of her kidnappers.
