After the painful killing of His Royal Highness, General Segun Aremu (rtd) and the abduction of his wife, the armed terrorists are demanding for N100m for her freedom.
The suspected Fulani abductors have also issued 24-hour ultimatum to the family of victims to pay the N100m
Two others are also held with the Olori in what represents an unimaginable assault on African tradition and culture.
Sources informed Irohinoodua on Sunday that the armed men have contacted the Royal family asking for N100m
Chairman of the Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) of the council, Mr Kayode Bayode, told journalists they the abductors want N100m before they could set free their captives.
Bayode said “They have contacted the family to demand N100m ransom. But we are still on the issue; that’s all I can can say for now.
“Though there is still panic in the community, the heavy presence of security has helped to calm the situation”, he
The terrorists are believed to be hiding inside the vast forest around Ikoro which extends to three states of Ekiti, Kwara and Kogi States.
Oba Aremu was killed on Tuesday night, a day after the gruesome murder of two Ekiti Obas, the Onimojo of Imojo Oba Olatunde Olusola and the Elesun of Esun, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsona
The third Oba on the team Alara of Ara, Oba Adebayo Fatoba escaped the attackers.
83-year-old man, Pa Adeyemi Simon Aremu was among those initially kidnapped by the Fulani herdsmen.
He spoke to journalists on how he was released.
Pa Aremu said, “I was having my dinner when suddenly six armed men entered my house and ordered me to follow them. It was while they were taking me away that they saw Olori under an Orange tree where she hid alongside a girl called Feranmi. They dragged the three of us inside the forest, shooting heavily in the process.
Speaking further he said It was a terrible and frightening situation for him.
“When I lost the energy to run, they began to drag me on the ground until we got to a spot where they ordered all of us to lie down facing the ground. Then, one of them told me to stand up and go back home. But I was afraid and my heart was literally in my mouth because I thought they would shoot me from behind while going.”
He said his abductors saw that he was weak and his health risk the plot of his abductors.
“It was when I got home that I saw the crowd at the palace that they had killed the monarch who was met in the pool of his blood.”
