Activist lawmaker, Tope Longe uplift widows, aged and locals at Christmas
A member representing Oye Constituency 1 in Oye Local Government of Ekiti State in Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mr Tope Longe, has showered gifts on members of his Constituency to show appreciation and love to them in the spirit of Christmas.
Beneficiaries were Muslims, Christians and traditional faith believers. Hundreds of beneficiaries benefited in the scheme with many of them describing the exercise as the best they have witnessed in the recent memory of the historic town.
At his Constituency Office in Oye-Ekiti, Longe gave out cash and food items to widows, the aged, less-privileged and other residents as a mark of solidarity with his people in the festive period marking the birth of Jesus Christ.
He said if Jesus was born for the purpose of salvation of the people, including rescuing his enemies, he saw no reason why he can’t lend support for the people through whom he exercises authority in government as their representative in the parliament. He assured of his determination to continue to lend support for the people.
Longe, who praised the people for their support for the state government, urged residents and Ekiti people in general to continue to pray for Ekiti leaders in government, even as he urged Nigerians to pray for the APC-led Federal Government for success in its initiatives to bail Nigeria out of the current economic crisis.
He urged the youth to shun reckless conducts, including taking too much alcohol and other illicit substances, as they celebrate Christmas and New Year.
He also warned drivers against reckless driving during Christmas and New Year holidays in order to save lives on the roads.
