By Samuel Ogunsona
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, is determined to promote Yoruba culture.
Henceforth, all civil servants are mandated to wear Aso Oke, every Thursday.
The Governor has directed all civil servants in the state to wear traditional attire with a touch of Aso Oke fabrics every Thursday.
The Governor said the directive is in addition to the existing policy of wearing native attire on Fridays.
The Governor’s initiative aims to boost cultural awareness and appreciation among government workers and the general public.
By incorporating traditional attire into their workwear, civil servants will be showcasing their Yoruba identity and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the state.
This move is seen as a positive step towards preserving and promoting Yoruba traditions and customs. It may also inspire other states to follow suit and promote their own cultural heritage.
The Oyo State Government has been known for its efforts to promote cultural awareness and development in the state.
