Terrorists plotting to attack South West, says Prophet

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned of planned terrorist attacks on South West States.

He issued the warning to security agencies at the weekend about the impending attacks of Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province terrorists in South West states.

According to Primate Ayodele, the terrorists have already infiltrated the region and are planning to attack states in the zone.

“The Southwest must be very proactive and careful,” he warned adding that he wanted to alert Nigerian police that Boko Haram and other terrorist groups are planning to attack Yoruba territories.

He emphasized that the Police and DSS should live up to expectations and work together to apprehend armed criminals.

Primate Ayodele revealed that the terrorists are already present in places like Osun and Oyo States and are planning to invade other parts of Yoruba territories.

Though the South West States run Amotekun, the internal security outfit, the group does not appear armed enough to be able to decisively confront heavily armed groups.

There are fears that the terrorists may also source their arms through the River Niger which takes its source from Guinea traversing many countries into Nigeria ending as estuaries in the oil producing Niger-Delta.

He specifically mentioned that they are trying to invade some interior areas.

The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde had earlier warned that the terrorists were moving from the North West to the South West.

But the warning by the Oyo State Governor, Makinde often does not go beyond rhetoric without any concrete plants to stem terrorists’ advance.

However, security in the South West and in Nigeria has improved tremendously since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s inauguration with the Army and other security agencies decimating armes criminal cells across the country. Kidnapping across the country has also reduced significantly.

He cautioned security operatives not to see his prophecy as doom but to use it for the benefit of the people.

He advised that a special team should be created, apart from Amotekun, to handle the issue. “I believe the DSS and Police can work together so they can apprehend them.

“Their mission is to create tension, kidnapping, and chaos,” he said.

Primate Ayodele called on all Assistant Inspector Generals of Police and Deputy Inspector General of Police in the South West Zone to work together for the good of the people.

He also called on governors to invest heavily in security in the zone. “The AIGs and DIG need to work together to curb this, this is very sensitive information, it’s in the interest of the nation, let’s not risk people’s lives,” he emphasized.

Primate Ayodele assured that Lagos and Ogun states would be difficult for these terrorists to invade because of the proactive AIG in charge of the states.

However, he called for a joint effort to curb terrorist activities. “It’s time for all the CPs in the zone to work together to flush them out.

“The military, DSS, and Police should work together and let the governors invest in security for the zone.”
