By Samuel Ogunsona

Kidnappers again struck in Ogun State on Friday.

They, at gun point seized the wife of an Assistant Inspector General of Police,(AIG) Hakeem Odumosu.

The kidnappers attacked his private residence where they took his wife after sporadic shooting.

Odumosu was noted for his diligent duty and commitment to the eradication of crime and kidnapping while he was in the police service.

His wife who lives at the family house located in Arepo area of Ogun State was kidnapped on Friday.

The Ogun State Police Command has deployed a crack team backed with undercover agents to arrest the kidnappers.

Irohinoodua was informed that about five kidnappers visited the house and gained entrance by scaling the fense.

It was not certain if there were protective guards at the time of the attack.

Local sources said the abductors were heavily armed and that they were people “alien to the language and culture of Ogun State.”

There has been relative peace in Ogun State until the new incidence.

A security expert who does not wish to be named told Irohinoodua that the kidnappers may not be unconnected with terrorists that are migrating in large numbers from the Northwest to the South West area.
“They are building camps and arming themselves. Kidnapping is a major source of funds for them which they use to procure more arms” the source who does not wish to be named told Irohinoodua.
