Prof Banji Akintoye, Yoruba Nation advocate loses wife

Leader of Ilana Omo Yoruba, Prof. Banji Akintoye has lost his beloved wife.
She died on Christmas day.
In a statement made availabke to Irohinoodua, the family said it is with profound sorrow but even greater gratitude to God for a life extremely well spent that the family announced her passing,a grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and sister.
Mrs Julia Olubusola Akintoye is the wife of many years of Prof Akintoye who leads the Yoruba Self-Determination Movement.
The family said she peacefully departed this life in the early hours of today, Wednesday at age 88.
The family said funeral arrangements will be announced by the family at a later date.
The family respectfully requested time to grieve privately during this difficult period.Prof. Akintoye and his wife have been living in the Republic of Benin where the two are noted for championing the advocacy for Yoruba self determination.
Both lived in the United States until 2014 when they relocated to Nigeria
