Newsbreak: Nigeria’s oldest actor, Agbako dies at 102

The oldest actor in Nigeria, Abdulsalam Sanyaolu, known with his stage name as Agbako, is dead.
He died on Thursday at a very ripe age of 120.
Agbako has a glowing career in the theatre world spanning over 80 yeats,making him the longest stage performer in Nigerian theatre history. He played the iconic part of the evil Oracle notorious for his antics and mastery of intrigues.
The president of Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) , Bolaji Amusan, is a statement made available to Irohinoodua said the old actor passed on Thursday.
Amusan stated “the passing of Pa Charles Olumo Sanyaolu, fondly known as AGBAKO. Details of the burial arrangements will be shared at a later time. Good night father, 25/02/1923 to 31/10/2024.”
Tributes have been pouring in for the actor who is seen as the longest reigning actor in Nigerian theatre arts industry.
