NEWSBREAK: Olu of Warri instals new Ologbosere, Ayari’s royal beads removed

The historic Royal Court of Warri Kingdom this evening appointed a new Ologbotsere to replace the former Prime Minister of Warri Kingdom, Emani Ayiri

Irohinoodua correspondent in Warri was informed this evening that the Olu of Warri His Royal Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse 111 backed by the Royal Court invited Ayiri to the Palace where his beads were formally removed ending a chapter in his turbulent career as the former Prime Minister of the ancient Kingdom

Our correspondent was informed that the Olu of Warri has been under severe pressure to remove Ayiri whose reign undermined the authority of the Warri Kingdom and sometimes brought the Royalty into disrepute

The Warri Kingdom this evening appointed Chief Eyewuoma as the new Prime Minister of Warri Kingdom.

“The Olu of Warri and all the Chiefs agreed that Ayiri had to be officially dropped. His chietfaincy beads have been collected. That is the traditional way of ending his reign as the Prime Minister. His authority has been formally withdrawn and given to another person” a royal source told our correspondent late evening on Sunday

Ayiri was conferred with the title by the Olu (king) of the Warri kingdom, Olu Atuwatse II.

When his successor Ogiame Ikenwoli ascended the throne, he conferred on Ayiri Emami the title Ologbotsere (prime minister) of the Warri kingdom.

The Kingdom suspended Ayiri as the Ologbotsere on 30 March 2021 following his critics described as a string of treacherous acts and open confrontation with the Royal family

The Warri Kingdom is one of the oldest in the world having been established in 1480.
