There are plans to stop the announcement of results of the Presidential election, the All Progressives Congress, (APC) has said.
A top APC leader and member of the Presidential Campaign Council, Mr Festus Keyamo accused the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the Labour Party, LP of planning to obtain court injunction to stop the announcement of the results.
“There are plans by the leadership of the Labour Party and the Peoples Democratic Party, LP to go to court. Their plan is to stop the announcement of the Presidential election results” Kayamo said during a press conference on Monday monitored by Irohinoodua.
He accused the PDP and LP of planning to stop the election in a plot similar to the June 12 election won by Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola which was later annulled by military dictator, Ibrahim Babangida who later set up an Interim Government.
The Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam El Rufai had alerted the country of plans to set up an Interim Government led by a retired General in the Army. He said the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN cash crunch was designed to unleash pains on Nigerians and make the APC unpopular ahead of the February 25 Presidential election.
There are fears that El Rufai revelation may come to pass. Observers think the CBN cash denial policy, the orchestrated insecurity spanning more than seven years, characterised by reckless kidnapping, mass ings and now the delay in releasing the results of the Presidential election might have been conceived as part of the grand plan to thwart the democratic process and ensure Buhari self succession by other means.
