Armed men strike in Ekiti again, Kidnap school principal, Nurse three others

Armed men suspected to be of Fulani extraction have again struck at Irele Ekiti.
This time, the kidnappers took away the Principal, Irele Community High School, a nurse in the local health centre q d two others.
They were seized at gun point on Monday morning between Oke Ako and Ijowa Ekiti, an area now synonymous with violent attacks on travellers.
Chief Kehinde Akogun of Irele Ekiti speaking for the community said the men were armed with AK-47.
“Our people are losing patience. Things are getting out of hand. Here they killed a member of the Nigerian Security Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC). They have kidnapped no fewer than 20 people in the past six months. We don’t have police stations. We have soldiers here at Oke Ako but the kidnapping had not stopped’ Chief Kehinde Akogun of Irele Ekiti said
He said children and women are now at the mercy of the kidnappers in a chat with Irohinoodua on Monday.
The kidnapping drew spontaneous protests from women and youths who took to the streets in the ancient community.
Our correspondent heard that the kidnappers usually take their victims into the forests in Kogi State where they usually collect their ransom.
